Specialized Programming is Troy Camp’s newest addition to school programming. In after-school and in-school sessions counselors pass on their knowledge and passion about a subject to children at West Vernon Elementary School. After-school programming includes art, dance, drama, and music, while in-school programming consists of science, literacy, and P.E. In weekly, hour long classes counselors work with students for 12 weeks and conclude the session with a display or performance at a showcase. As more and more after school programs are being cut from schools and non-academic subjects dropped from the curriculum, SP strives to expose students to these subjects as well as give kids valuable and new experiences.
